P-38 Lightning

The P-38 Lightning was feared by the foes of the U.S. in World War II. Called the "fork-tailed-devil" by the germans, it was the only U.S. plane to serve throughout the entire war. The two U.S. aces of the war flew P-38 Lightnings.

LEGO® Model vs. Real P-38 Lightning
LEGO® Model vs. Real

I've always been a fan of the P-38, so when I had finished the P-51 Mustang I HAD to build the P-38 as well. While the LEGO® model would be more accurate and look better if the fuselage were 3 studs wide insead of 4, 3 is quite difficult to build with LEGO® bricks. At the same time I was quite happy with the angled wings.
