F-22 Raptor

With stealth capabilities, supersonic cruising speed, two-dimensional vector thrusting engines and cutting-edge avionics the F-22 raptor is possibly the most formidable fighter ever built.

LEGO® Model vs. Real F-22 Raptor
LEGO® Model vs. Real

This model was challenging to design because of the color limitations of LEGO® bricks. I wanted to capture the 2-gray shade coloring of the camouflage but found that to be quite difficult. In version 3, I removed the blocky "camo" from the wings and made them light gray leaving the fuselage dark gray. (Notice that the pictures with the flags are version 2 as the wings still have the block 2-gray look.)

The LEGO® model actually has a smaller radar signature than the real fighter... well, in truth I haven't proven that... but I ASSUME it would. Unfortunately it does not fly as fast... well, um... it doesn't REALLY fly at all. But it LOOKS great!

As it stands, the F-22 features two bay doors at the bottom (housing the landing gear instead of armaments.) I'm thinking that someday I'll redesign the bays to hold ordnance and create separate landing gear mechanisms... but for now it is what it is... and it still looks great!

Do the instructions include a parts breakdown so someone could take the list to a local Lego Store to purchase them? Thx.
